FEI: A Chip Inspector's Gadget

Abstract:
Founded more than 30 years ago, FEI specializes in the design and manufacture of electron microscopes and other advanced equipment for metrology and inspection. In 1997, FEI acquired the electron-microscope operations of Philips (PHG ), which now owns 25% of FEI common shares.
