Better Living through Chemistry
Abstract:
Joseph DeSimone, Ph.D., is well known for the UNC spin-out Micell Technologies and the Hangers Cleaners dry-cleaning chain he co-founded back in 1995. But there is more to the chemical engineer than clean suits. The only faculty member to be tenured at both UNC and NC State, DeSimone recently worked behind the scenes with other faculty to acquire a $12M lithography stepper for cutting-edge research and development of nanoscale computer chips and other tiny electronic devices.
