Life Sciences Board Includes Leaders from Academia, Business
Abstract:
A public-private partnership to invigorate Indiana's life sciences industry has lined up a board of directors that includes top education, corporate and political leaders. The board for the Biocrossroads campaign includes Lieutenant Governor Kathy Davis, the presidents of Indiana and Purdue universities and central indiana business leaders. The 18-member board will work to wean the state's economy away from dependence on heavy manufacturing. The two-year-old Biocrossroads campaign has raised $73 million to pay for work in pharmaceuticals, genetics, nanotechnology, medical devices and agricultural chemicals.
