Matsushita confirms $1.2 billion digital consumer fab plan
Abstract:
Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. Ltd. confirmed Friday (Jan. 9) it is planning to spend ¥130 billion (about $1.2 billion) on a 300-mm wafer fab at its Uozu Plant in Toyama Prefecture. Plans call for the upgrading of manufacturing to 65-nm processes and further expanding production capacity, the company said.
