Burgess announces $3.1 million grant
Abstract:
U.S. Rep. Michael Burgess announced a $3.1 million federal appropriation for NT's Center for Advanced Research and Technology Monday at a ceremony held at the NT Research Park. Oscar Garcia, founding dean of the college of engineering, said the appropriation funds will be used to purchase a state-of-the-art transmission electron microscope and to salary a specialist to operate the device. He said the microscope will be used to research nanotechnology, exploratory engineering at atomic and molecular levels where the nanometer is the standard unit of length.
