Abstract:
Valuable efforts have been made in the Sixth International Festival on Nanotechnology (Iran Nano 2013) to introduce the applications of nanotechnology in the field of agriculture and packaging, its organizers said.

As a result, the companies active in the field have presented their achievements with higher quality, said the organizers, and added, "In this festival, seven companies are active in the field of agriculture and packaging."

Taking into consideration the importance of this subject, nanofiltration systems have been presented in Agriculture Zone of the festival in order to purify agricultural water. The filters eliminate all poisonous and harmful materials from water and they make water ready to be used for agricultural purposes.

Various types of nutritious fertilizers in the form of capsules and controllable fertilizers are among other products that have been presented in Agricultural Zone of Iran Nano 2013.

Biological fertilizers and nano-chelates have been put on display in the festival. One kilogram of this fertilizer has an effect similar to the effect of 500 kg of normal phosphate and nitrate fertilizer. The fertilizers are effective in the solution and in the transference of materials required by the plants, and contrary to phosphate and nitrate fertilizers that may cause cancer, these fertilizers are pretty harmless.

One of the important challengers in the field of vegetables and fruits is the fact that 30-40% of the products are wasted before being presented to the customer. One of the solutions is the use of nano-packaging and nano-waxes. Packages made of nanomaterials conserve the fruit until it is presented to the consumer.

In this festival, nanoclays were presented, which are added to diary packages and prevent the diffusion of air into the product. As a result, the durability of the product increases without adding any chemicals to it. When such nanomaterials are added to milk packages, the durability of the milk increases from 3 to 9 days (an increase of 50% is observed).

Nano Vahed San'at Persian is another company that participated in this zone of the festival. This company presented nano-wax for fruits, which cause higher durability and transparency.
