Iran, Thailand, Taiwan Discuss Methods to Evaluate Antibacterial Products

Tehran, Iran | Posted on May 27th, 2013

In this session, the participants expressed methods and techniques (including devices, instructions, and protocols), the type of the bacterium used in the tests, standards, and regulations for the admission of products in their own countries. Dr. Ali Beitollahi, the Head of Iran's Nanotechnology Standardization Committee, announced Iran's readiness to host a meeting of nanotechnology products exporting countries and to develop the cooperation between the three countries.

The discussion went on about nanometrology and related issues such as calibration, test method, and comparing the experimental and sampling data. Dr. Yaeo from ITRI, Taiwan, stated about his country's activities in nanometrology, and added, "International activities of Taiwan in nanometrology are mainly focused on laboratorial comparison of specific cases such as dimensional comparison of gold and silver nanoparticles."

Then, Dr. Notapan, a member of NANOTEC and the head of Thailand Nano Symbol Technical Committee (NanoQ), elaborated on his own country's activities in the field of Nano Symbol, and said, "This center calibrates the equipment twice a year."

He also expressed that their center has carried out activities in the field of experimental data exchange inside and outside the country. According to him, Thailand and Taiwan cooperate in form of carrying out common projects in the fields of calibration instructions through Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC).

In the end of the session, Dr. Beitollahi suggested that another meeting would be held in the near future with the participation of nanometrology experts to hold more precise discussions.
