Abstract:
Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan inaugurated today the 3rd International Conference on Nanotechnology organised by the Faculty of Engineering at UAE University in collaboration with the Arab Academy of Science and the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.

The three-day conference at the UAEU campus in Al Ain aims at providing a venue to gather researchers and scientists to assess Nano and Micro technologies for emerging applications and its prospects in the region.
Sheikh Nahyan commended the UAEU's Faculty of Engineering for its efforts to organise the major international conference in the field of Nanotechnology.
" We in the UAE experiment free and creative thinking for planning the future of our country that celebrates the 40th anniversary of its National Day. The prudent leadership by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of UAE Armed Forces His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan encourages us for free and innovative thinking", Sheikh Nahyan said in his inaugural address.
The conference will provide a venue for entrepreneurs and venture capitals to discuss collaborative research and business developments. Training and workshop sessions will also be held.
Scientific topics to be discussed at the conference includes Nano-biotechnology, Nano-materials, Nano-energy, Nano-medicine, Nano-Food, Nanotechnology for oil and gas industry, Cancer Nanotechnology, Bionano Materials and Tissues and a host of other interesting aspects related to Nanotechnology.
