Coming: Nano research centre

Abstract:
The National Institute of Engineering (NIE) has received a grant of Rs 1.86 crore for a research project on Nanotechnology from Nano Mission attached to the ministry of science and technology.

The institute will soon set up a Nanotechnology Centre of Excellence on its premises to carry out research on characterization of composite materials and application of nano-materials for sustainable energy. The research team consists of NIE principal G L Shekar as principal investigator and department of mechanical engineering professors B K Sridhara and L Krishnamurthy as co-investigators. Shekar is also the professor of department of industrial and production engineering.
