SWeNT carbon nanotubes enhance body armor

Abstract:
SouthWest NanoTechnologies Inc. (SWeNT, Norman, Okla., USA), a manufacturer of single-wall and specialty multiwall (SMW) carbon nanotubes (CNTs), reported on Aug. 19 that it is manufacturing SMW carbon nanotubes for NanoRidge Materials Inc. These CNTs are being incorporated into enhanced body armor to improve protection of soldiers and law enforcement officers from small arms fire.
