5MW thin-film solar power plant starts up in California
Abstract:
The CalRENEW-1 plant is the first utility-scale solar PV project to be connected to Pacific Gas & Electric's transmission system, and one of the largest PV plants of its type in California.
The project was developed by Cleantech America, the US subsidiary of New Zealand state-owned renewable energy generation company Meridian Energy Ltd.
The developer, which has its offices in San Francisco, has a long-term agreement in place to supply power from the new facility to PG&E.
