R.I. expects $130 million for special projects
Abstract:
Rhode Island stands to get more than $130 million worth of special projects in the coming year — ranging from the replacement of the Pawtucket River Bridge to the creation of an Alzheimer's disease treatment program at Butler Hospital — as part of a catch-all, $446.8-billion spending bill that has been sent to President Obama's desk for his signature.
The bill contains money for education and research as well. URI and Brown University will share $1.25 million for nanotechnology research.
