Thin Film Electronics, InkTec produce printed memory devices in R2R volume process
Abstract:
Thin Film Electronics and InkTec say that they have produced fully functional printed nonvolatile memory products in a high-volume roll-to-roll printing process. The collaboration between the Norwegian and Korean companies has been successfully completed to demonstrate fully R2R printed memories with a layout and device structure developed by Thinfilm, targeting applications such as game cards and toys.
The companies say the R2R production-worthy printing process can achieve yields of 96-97% on the printed memory cells for the best device structure. Several rolls, each with more than 100m of printed memory, have been produced with a total of five printing steps, according to the partners. The printed memory film thickness is about 200nm.
