Berlin, Germany | Posted on March 3rd, 2009
Nanotech Europe offers a broad, interdisciplinary overview of nanotechnology, and the opportunity to meet and discuss with the field's top scientists and leading international companies in the nanotechnology community.
Previous Nanotech Europe events have included high-quality speakers from both academia and industry, including Janez Potocnik (EU Commissioner for Science and Research), Alan J. Heeger (Nobel Laureate, USA), Tero Ojanperä (CTO, Nokia), Michael Graetzel (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Switzerland), Shuji Nakamura (Millennium Technology Prize winner), E. James Prendergast (CTO, DuPont), Paul Alivisatos (Berkeley National Laboratory, USA), Richard M. Russell (Office of Science and Technology Policy in the Executive Office of the President, USA) and Mikhail Kovalchuk (Russian Research Center "Kurchatov Institute", Russia).
The 2009 event is organised by a comprehensive consortium of partners, including Agent-D, the coordination group of the Centers of Competence of Nanotechnology in Germany and co-organised with Technische Universität Berlin (TU Berlin) in cooperation with the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (Germany). The lead organizer of Nanotech Europe is Spinverse, a company specialized in emerging technology commercialization.
"We are excited to host Nanotech Europe 2009 in Germany and we welcome the top speakers in the field to this unique international event" says Professor Dieter Bimberg Chairman of the Board of Agent-D and Executive Director of Institut fuer Festkoerperphysik and Center of NanoPhotonics at Technische Universität Berlin.
The fifth Nanotech Europe has a broad scope, covering leading-edge research, industrial applications and cross-cutting topics including: electronics, energy, healthcare, safety and investment.
The conference will feature work ranging from the latest scientific breakthroughs to industrial uses of nanotechnology, whilst technology transfer sessions will offer opportunities for start-ups and universities to market their technologies. The exhibition will demonstrate developments in nanotechnology-based products, tools and other services.
