Stupendous Soy

Abstract:
The ARS scientists teamed up with a University of Toronto scientist to successfully formulate their soy-based hydrogel into nanoparticles that can be used to encapsulate the breast cancer drug doxorubicin. In drug-release experiments, the nanoparticle-delivered doxorubicin proved eight times more toxic to cancerous cell lines than when standard lipid-water solutions were used to deliver the drug!
