UNC Charlotte names Five Ventures winners
Abstract:
UNC Charlotte has selected the winners of the annual Five Ventures entrepreneurial business competition.
IRealtyManager.com from Charlotte was named the winner in service and retail.
Charlotte-based Virtual Officer won in the student and nonprofit category.
The winner in the biotechnology field was GOPS Group International, a Saluda-based company that conducts business under the name AlgaMax.
Filigree Nanotechnology Inc. from Winston-Salem won in the field of advanced manufacturing.
And Cary-based Wisteme was the winner in the information-technology category.
The competition, in its seventh year, tests the business acumen of startup companies for a chance to win more than $100,000 in cash and in-kind services.
