Bandaging wounds with nano, robotics

Abstract:
Oleg Siniaguine was in Afghanistan working for the Soviet military where he was trying to develop a spray-on bandage that would act as a second skin for wounded soldiers. His work planted a seed that would later grow into his medical device company, PolyRemedy Inc.

After immigrating to the U.S., Siniaguine continued working on the idea in his garage. Now PolyRemedy, which he founded in 2005, has rounded up $25 million in venture capital to put on the market a robotic device that makes personalized dressings for chronic wounds using nanotechnology.
