Dr. Haldor Topsøe to be sole proprietor of Topsøe
Abstract:
The Topsøe family has acquired all of its Italian partner Saipem's shares in Haldor Topsøe A/S for EUR 340 million.
94-year-old Dr. Haldor Topsøe recently acquired Italian Saipem's share in Haldor Topsøe A/S so that the Topsøe family now owns the entire Haldor Topsøe. The shares which represented 50 per cent have been acquired for EUR 340 million, informs the company in a press release.
Saipem is the owner of Snamprogetti which originally invested in Haldor Topsøe A/S alongside Dr. Haldor Topsøe who owns the other 50 per cent.
"Haldor Topsøe A/S and Saipem will continue their commercial relationship - notably in the areas of ammonia and fertilizer and with both Snamprogetti and the broader Saipem and ENI groups," says Dr. Topsøe.
"We are fortunate that the company's competences within engineering, catalysis and nanotechnology play an increasing role in solving today's energy and environmental problems," continued Dr. Topsøe. Haldor Topsøe A/S will continue its current focus on providing innovative research-based solutions for catalysis and related process technology with global headquarters in Copenhagen.
