Putin appoints head of 5 bln usd nanotech corp
Abstract:
Russian President Vladimir Putin has appointed the former head of telecoms giant MTS to lead a new 5.0 bln usd, which equates to about 3.7 bln eur, state nanotechnology corporation, officials said on Friday.
'The president has written an order under which Leonid Melamed will be director of the corporation,' First Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Ivanov said at a government meeting, RIA Novosti news agency reported.
Melamed has previously worked in Russia's telecoms and electricity sectors.
