End of nuke apartheid against India
Abstract:
Petroleum minister Murli Deora was exultant. "The Prime Minister has achieved a big success. This agreement will increase our sources of energy, apart from transforming our relations with the US. As a result of this agreement, we will be able to achieve our energy targets with greater ease," he said.
The benefits of the nuclear deal will be felt not merely in the energy sector but in India's access to dual-use technology across the spectrum from biotech, nanotechnology, pharmaceuticals, space etc. "The lifting of sanctions on high tech is a freeing up of India in today's world from constraints that had held her back... quite apart from our relations with the US.
