Manufacturers need to grasp how the new generation of high-end R&D can influence their business. Areas such as nanotechnology, high-end automation of manufacturing processes for smaller companies, and the use of sensors in manufacturing are just some examples of technologies that are absolutely requisite to keeping a viable manufacturing sector in a high-wage environment.
