Abstract:
Many of the 20 people profiled in this issue will dominate headlines in the coming year. Others will make an impact in their own quiet ways.

Skip Rung's job is simple. Make sure Oregon is a leading player in the hottest technology sector around -- nanotechnology.

Rung is executive director of the Oregon Nanoscience and Microtechnologies Institute, or ONAMI. The institute is charged with bringing together the state's disparate technology players to create a thriving cluster of nanotech concerns.
