Nanocarrier suits eye disease treatment
Abstract:
Researchers from the University of Tokyo, Osaka Prefecture University and Santen Pharmaceutical, all in Japan, have tested a nanocarrier loaded with a novel dendritic photosensitizer for use in photodynamic therapy. They found that dendrimer porphyrin encapsulated in a polyion-complex micelle was suitable for treating the eye disease exudative age-related macular degeneration.
