Abstract:
The National Nanotechnology Initiative was formally launched at the federal level in 2001. Since then, federal expenditures in nanotechnology have nearly tripled as multiple agencies from the NSF to Defense, Health and Human ServicesÊand Energy have launched programs. Today's $1B expenditure at the Federal level and $400M in State spending are spread across thousands of projects in multiple industries.
