Abstract:
NanoCommerce AND SEMI NanoForum UNITE Create Dominant Nanotechnology Business and Technical Conference and Expo

Top Nanotechnology Events Join Forces

San Jose, CA, Ann Arbor, MI. and Chicago, IL. | April 21, 2005

The premier industry and nanotechnology organizations, SEMI, Small Times Media, and the NanoBusiness Alliance are combining their leading conferences into one showcase event NanoCommerce/NanoForum 2005. Attendees will benefit from the integration of the best of both events the commercialization focus of NanoCommerce and the technical business integration emphasis of NanoForum. NanoCommerce/NanoForum will be held November 1-3, 2005 at the McCormick Place and Hyatt Regency Hotel, Chicago.

As in past years, NanoCommerce/NanoForum 2005 will bring together the leading nanotechnology business and technology leaders from around the world representing the entire supply chain of nanotechnology manufacturing. This includes corporate and start-up executives from nanotechnology manufacturers, material suppliers, equipment manufacturers and service providers.

"The goal of NanoForum was to identify new growth opportunities beyond semiconductors and displays for the materials, metrology and process tools that enable nano-manufacturing and NanoCommerce provided the cross-industry centric perspective we were looking for. Our members wanted a forum to develop new business relationships. This combination provides the exact audience composition to make these relationships possible. It is a perfect fit," said Stanley Myers, SEMI president and chief executive officer.

"By combining the audiences of both events, we will be able to create an even greater opportunity for our participants to find partners and customers, which has been a critical component of NanoCommerce's success," said Patti Glaza, Small Times Media CEO.

"Collectively, the NanoBusiness Alliance, Small Times Media and SEMI are uniquely positioned to bring together all of the key players from the start-ups and the titans of industry, to the scientists and to the world of finance - to capitalize on nanotech's potential and bring its applications to the marketplace," said Sean Murdock, executive director of the NanoBusiness Alliance.

The first two days will be devoted to strategic discussions, including deeper dives into specific markets including bio/medical, electronics/telecom, materials, energy, consumer products/transportation and aerospace/defense. The third day will be devoted to technical development and integration topics, including deposition, metrology, photolithography, etch, surface conditioning and implant diffusion/anneal.
