Nano's industry status is a matter of perspective

Abstract:
Sam Brauer: In the Jan/Feb 2005 issue of Small Times magazine, guest columnist Dan Colbert pointed out that: "Nanotechnology is NOT an industry." He commented that speakers prowling the hallways of nanotechnology meetings agreed. I've skulked in the same hallways and talked to people involved in nanotechnology for many years, and Dan has accurately reported a significant undertone of these discussions. While I respect Dan's qualifications and what he's done to arrive at that viewpoint, I have to disagree with him.
