How often have you heard that you don't have to be a lawyer to join a bar association? Never, right? The Converging Technologies Bar Association (CTBA) has been created just for you. For the first time in history, a bar association has been formed with an array of communities in mind - legal, scientific, engineering, business, financial, government, academic, among others, representing the multidimensional nature of converging technologies. Spanning nanotechnology, biotechnology, information technology, cognitive science, neuroscience, and other related sciences and technologies, the CTBA is a new kind of bar association for a new kind of world.

Its uniquely broad charter as a membership organization reflects the extraordinarily vast impact posed by the convergence of science and technology. In order to keep pace with the rapid advance of converging technologies, various professional communities must be given a place to talk, collaborate, and learn about the issues to work together toward solutions. The CTBA is the voice of and leader for the converging technologies community. It is the world's first professional association of its kind.
