Microtherm¨ is a microporous insulation whose principle component is amorphous fumed silica with particles in the size range 5 ö 25 nm. It is therefore more aptly described as a nanoporous insulation, capable of sustained exposure to 1832 deg F (1000 deg C) with a performance even better than quiescent air.
