"In the highly competitive consumer display market, quantum dot technology offers manufacturers the next wave of innovation and a means of differentiation by providing full-gamut, accurate color without sacrificing efficiency or cost," said Jason Carlson, CEO of QD Vision. "QD Vision's Color IQ™ technology enables partners to deliver full Adobe RGB solutions to a larger market, including gamers and enthusiasts."

BOE is a world-class leader in both R&D and panel manufacturing, and it continues to expand its business, now offering completely integrated ODM LCD monitors. At COMPUTEX 2014, BOE will be using Color IQ optics to demonstrate Adobe RGB full-gamut color performance on monitors ranging from 23.6" and larger.

"BOE customers continually strive to improve total system performance to provide a better end user experience," said James Fan, Director Set Development Center, Product Management Division, BOE. "In addition to enabling BOE to deliver full Adobe RGB, with Color IQ™ optics we have complete color tunability, high-volume manufacturability, and an energy efficient solution."

BOE plans to bring products to market using QD Vision's optics and ShineOn's LED backlight solution in their 2014 monitor product lines.

"We are committed to providing BOE, one of our key strategic LCD partners, with globally leading backlight technologies to differentiate in the market," said Frank Fan, President of ShineOn. "We share the same vision with QD Vision in quantum dot full-gamut, and our strong partnership can greatly help our global customers speed up to customize the cutting edge technology solution, and win competition advantages in the demanding display industry."

About Quantum Dots (QD)

QDs are semiconductor nanocrystals that possess unique light emitting optical properties. The emission wavelength spectrum of QD light can be tuned to create almost any color of the visible spectrum as defined by the CIE 1931 color space. QDs have very narrow light emission properties enabling a wider color gamut, resulting in higher color fidelity and improved backlight performance.

QD Vision's Color IQ™ quantum dot technology improves the color quality of TVs, monitors and other displays by delivering full-gamut, 100% NTSC color accuracy, tunability and high-volume manufacturability at a low price point. Quantum dots are the only display technology that provides both 100% NTSC color and Energy Efficiency Index (EEI) compliance.
