ICRAPID-2014- Mega Event of SATHYABAMA UNIVERSITY

Chennai, India | Posted on May 14th, 2014

The idea of conduct was conceived by the Department of Physics and jointly organised with the centre for NANOSCIENCE AND NANOTECHNOLOGY making it a mammoth event appreciated by the scientific community that shall bear fruits for society in near future.

With the Divine Guidance and with the great words of Encouragement from stalwarts who have given foreword have provided us guiding Light for its success with Prof. Douglas Dean Osheroff (1996 Nobel Laureate) and Prof. Walter Kohn (1998 Nobel Laureate). The former was in touch with attendees of the conference delegates, research scholars and scientists by way of live videoconferencing on 24 Jan.2014, 10-11 a.m, whereas the later adorned the Pre-conference Meet held on December 5-6, 2013 at our campus by his visit. He interacted with the best brains of Chennai Scientists of IITM, IGCAR, IMSc, CSIR, etc. and motivated scientific community to address Global Energy Crises and do inter-Disciplinary research to solve scientific and technological problems that plague the society.

We have screened an audio-visual treat by name "Tribute to Nobel Laureates" during Nobel Laureate's visit as a mark of paying Homage to the best genius of mankind who guide and save life on earth by their vision and mission.

This event would not be made possible without the whole hearted support of our Founder and Chancellor Col.Dr.Jeppiaar, Directors Dr.Marie Johnson and Dr.Mariazeena Johnson. The "Book of Abstracts" of ICRAPID-2014 has been released with ISBN 978-93-83409-3. More than 100 papers were submitted and after scrutiny the approved papers were on display by way of poster presentation. The classy papers' abstracts find their way into "Book of Abstracts" and the full text papers are getting published in an online journal "International Journal of Scientific and Engineering Research (IJSER)". Published conference paper at www.ijser.org/icrapid2014-conference-papers.aspx

Inaugural session was conducted on 23-01-2014 at 10 am when Presidential Address was given by our Chancellor.Col.Dr.Jeppiaar. Prof.A.Jayaraman, Director, Atmospheric Research Laboratory Department of space, Govt. of India, Gadanki, AP delivered the Key note address and declared open the conference for fruitful discussions. Prof. Mebarek Alouani, IPCMS-DAEMONs Strasbourg, France gave the inaugural address. The following scientists have delivered the invited Talks. Prof.Kalobaran Maiti,TIFR,Mumbai, Prof.SushilAuluck, IIT Kanpur, Prof.Dilip G. Kanhere, University of Pune, Prof.JafferAli, Reader, CGET, Pondicherry University, Prof.P.Ch.Sahu, Head, HPPS,CMPD, MSG, IGCAR, KALPAKKAM, Prof.Dr.B.V.R.Tata, Head, Light Scattering Studies Section, IGCAR, Kalpakkam, Prof.Dr.G.Arthanareeswaran, NIT, Tiruchirapalli.
