Abstract:
Sharif University of Technology will hold the 5th International Conference on Nanostructures (ICNS5) on Kish Island on 6-9 March, 2014 to pave the ground for further cooperation between Iranian and foreign researchers.
The conference is considered among the conferences that have been approved by Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council to receive the second payment of the stimulus support.
Creating an appropriate opportunity to introduce the latest achievements in the field of nanostructures, studying challenges in the field of nanostructures, and strengthening the cooperation between the Iranian and foreign researchers in the field of nanotechnology are among the objectives of the conference.
Scopes that will be discussed in the conference are as follows:
• Nanomaterials, nanobiomaterials, and nanocomposites;
• Nanostructured materials in energy and environment;
• Nanobiotechnology and its medical applications;
• Nanostructures in electronics, photonic, and plasmonic;
• Mechanical properties of nanomaterials;
• Nanomaterials in catalysts and photocatalysts;
• Spintronics nanomagnetic structures;
• Nanostructures based on carbon nanotubes;
• New 2-dimensional structures;
• Synthesis and detection advanced methods;
• Nanosensors and nanobiosensors
Among the key-note speakers in the conference, mention can be made of Prof. Andre Geim, the noble prize winner in physics in 2010, Prof. Michael Grätzel, the 2010 Millennium Technology Grand Prize winner, Prof. Klaus Muller-Klug, one of the managers in Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research, and Prof. Sir Mark Welland, the Head of Nanoscience Centre of Cambridge University.
