Iranian researchers ranked 8th in the world by publishing 3,512 nanotechnology-related ISI indexed articles in 2012, the latest statistics in StatNano database said.

At the end of 2011, Iranian researchers had published 3,011 nanotechnology-related articles and ranked 12th in the world.
China and the United States ranked first and second by publishing 27,319 and 19,318 nanotechnology-related ISI indexed articles in 2012, respectively. Germany, South Korea, Japan, India, and France possessed the next ranks.
Local Share index reached 16.26 in 2012 that brings the second rank in the world for Iran.
