Minalogic, the global competitive cluster dedicated to micro- and nanotechnologies and embedded software, co-hosted a visit by a delegation from Samsung Electronics earlier this month.
Minalogic Co-Hosts Samsung Delegation’s Grenoble Visit
Grenoble, France | Posted on December 7th, 2012
The two-day visit was designed to introduce the delegation to key members of Grenoble's business and high-tech ecosystem, and underscore the region's broad range of technology in both R&D and production, especially innovative MEMS and sensors.
"The overall infrastructure in Grenoble is very impressive - the way business, education, research centers, clusters and incubators work together in order to bring out new technologies and products on the market," said Wonmi Jang, assistant manager at Samsung Electronics UK.
"I found much more than I expected in Grenoble," added Brandon Lee, from Samsung Display.
"As a global leader in intelligent miniaturized solutions, Minalogic was pleased to meet with the Samsung Electronics delegation and to present some of our members who are innovating at the leading edge of microelectronics and embedded software," said Minalogic CEO Jean Chabbal. "This visit underscores Grenoble's growing visibility as a key global center of micro- and nanotechnologies."
The visit was coordinated by AEPI, the Grenoble-isère economic development agency. The delegation met with several Minalogic member companies, as well as start-ups from the Grenoble incubator GRAIN, industrial members from SEMI Europe, and representatives of CEA-Leti and CEA-Liten.

About Minalogic
Created in 2005, the Minalogic global competitive cluster in Grenoble is a public/private partnership with more than 200 members dedicated to supporting integration of hardware and embedded software. Minalogic’s collaborative projects are focused on developing products and services that capitalize on the potential of better combinations of micro- and nanotechnology and embedded software. The cluster encourages and supports industry research-training collaborations with companies in Europe, Asia and the U.S., while responding to the global high-tech community's need to identify new value-added services that can be integrated into existing products in health care, the environment, mobility, the media, the textile industry and other areas.
