Abstract:
The conception of NanoThailand 2012: "Nanotechnology for the Benefits of Mankind", which will be held during April 9-11, 2012 in Khon Kaen, Thailand, is to be a premier international conference and a series of exhibition in Nanotechnology, bringing together world-leading researchers, Thai scientists, entrepreneurs, business partners and exhibitors, in several focused areas of science and technology at the nanoscale. It is aimed as a platform to disseminate the latest research results, allow cross-disciplinary exchange of knowledge to further advance both technological areas and to showcase their latest inventions and innovations. In the foreseeable, not too distant future, Nanotechnology will significantly impact various large industries and SMEs domestically, regionally and beyond.

"We are extremely happy to partner with NANOKKU and NSTDA for organizing this distinctive event. Nanotechnology is already playing a key role in contributing to economic success and developments of many countries" said Prof. Sirirurg Songsivilai, President of Nanotechnology Association of Thailand and Executive Director of NANOTEC at a recent press conference. "We need knowledge sharing platforms like these, where experts from various disciplines can effectively collaborate and pave the way to bring out new advancements in nanotechnology development. The conference will certainly benefit the local research community".
"We are delighted to host NanoThailand 2012 and promote nanotechnology research development in Thailand," said Associate Prof. Dr. Kittichai Triratanasirichai, President of Khon Kaen University. "The university is continuously tracking new research trends, innovations and fostering fresh ideas and nanotechnology is an area that is of interest to us".
Also participating in the press conference is Dr. Kiat Sangaroon, Dean of Faculty of Science, Khon Kaen University, and Dr. Vittaya Amornkitbamrung, Director of Integrated Nanotechnology Research Center of Khon Kaen University (NANOKKU).
NanoThailand 2012 conference is organized by Nanotechnology Association of Thailand, NANOKKU, National Nanotechnology Center (NANOTEC), and National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA). Participants from 32 nations will attend the international conference which will showcase 6 scientific sessions, a public forum on nanotechnology and society, and research exhibitions.
