Nanoparticles May Offer New Way to Treat Type 1 Diabetes
Abstract:
Nanotechnology can deliver drugs directly to the pancreas and provide an entirely new approach to treating type 1 diabetes. Researchers have developed nanoparticles that can seek out and bind to capillary blood vessels of the islets of the pancreas. John Schieszer has the latest on the story in today's Medical Minute.
