Pennsylvania DCED: New Investments Helping Grow Nanotechnology Industry Statewide
Harrisburg, PA | Posted on November 22nd, 2011
"The Corbett administration is committed to providing resources to early-stage and established technology firms to encourage innovation and the creation of high-paying jobs throughout the state," said Department of Community and Economic Development Secretary C. Alan Walker. "This program will support technology growth and collaboration among Pennsylvania's higher education institutions and technology-oriented businesses."
This competitive grant program is designed to support nanotechnology-related university research through education and workforce development, forming public-private partnerships and attracting the most talented undergraduate and graduate students. The program will also focus on commercializing new technologies, expanding and enhancing synergy between existing companies and universities, and coordinating with other technology-based economic development activities. Applicants eligible for funding include colleges or universities and their non-profit partners.
Grant applications will be accepted by the Department of Community and Economic Development through Dec. 31, 2011. Applications should be submitted using the online DCED Single Application for Assistance located at newPA.com or www.esa.dced.state.pa.us. If addenda are required, it may be attached electronically to the application on the Addenda tab, or submitted via U.S. Mail with the Signature page.
