Luna looks to grow in Danville
Abstract:
Production of carbon nanomaterials at Luna nanoWorks in Danville led to sales of nanomaterial products around the world.
Those nanomaterials are sold through a distributor to research and development entities like university or commercial laboratories, said Charles Gause, senior vice president of corporate development for Roanoke-based Luna Innovations Inc.
Luna nanoWorks is working on developing polymer — or basically plastic — solar cells that would be less efficient than classic solar cells using silicon, but would be much cheaper and easier to produce. Gause said such solar cells would be a good fit for solar building products.
