NanoKTN's International NanoMission Helps UK Manufacturer Generate Sales
UK | Posted on November 17th, 2010
The NanoKTN is pleased to announce the success of an overseas mission that has helped a UK manufacturer generate global commercial interest and secure new sales. Tetreon, manufacturer of diffusion furnaces, has seen a direct benefit from participating in NanoKTN activities and encourages other companies looking for networking and business opportunities to join the NanoKTN.
Tetreon, based in Sussex, specialises in diffusion furnaces for semiconductor, MEMs, photovoltaic, nanomaterial and scientific applications. The company was selected by the NanoKTN to attend the ‘Nanotechnology Product Design & Applications in Energy & Environment' NanoMission, which visited major research organisations and companies in Germany. By putting the company in direct contact with industry professionals, Tetreon has secured sales from international customers.
"Being a member of the NanoKTN has given us huge benefits, including of course receiving funding for the NanoMission to Germany. Missions give us the chance to network with businesses and the science base on an international scale, as well as providing an arena for innovation and knowledge transfer," comments Iain McGregor, Business Development Manager.
McGregor continues, "Attending the NanoMission has enabled us to organise meetings and consultations with international audiences and through the German mission we have established business partnerships that have now led to large orders. In addition, we have been able to improve processing and form strategic partnerships that will enable Tetreon to grow in the future."
The NanoKTN's primary aim is to develop the UK nanotechnology industry and a major aspect of this is facilitating international business opportunities. Since 2008, the NanoKTN has worked closely with companies like Tetreon, with the aim of increasing the competitiveness of UK industry.
Martin Kemp, Theme Manager at the NanoKTN adds, "Business partnerships are vital to companies in the early stages of development, enabling them to develop strong connections with industry in the UK and overseas. By providing our members with an arena for networking and discussions, they can make themselves known within the industry. I would recommend joining the NanoKTN to anyone that wants to raise their company's profile and speed up their sales cycle."
