Five nanotechnology projects to receive funding from the Oklahoma Center for the Advancement of Science and Technology

Abstract:
Winning nanotechnology awards include:

• SouthWest NanoTechnologies in Norman for a project on advanced cathode materials for next generation batteries used in all-electric vehicles. Award: $500,000 for three years.

• Frontier Electronic Systems in Stillwater for developing and commercializing a lithium battery system for commercial/military applications. Award: $500,000 for three years.

• Charlesson in Oklahoma City to develop a nano-emulsion based anti-glaucoma drug. Award: $242,295 for two years.

• Oklahoma State University in Stillwater to produce a hand-held sensor device capable of detecting sulfur impurities in gasoline and diesel. Award: $89,480.

• Bijhem Scientific in Norman to research and develop technology to manufacture a self-regenerating catalyst to absorb and destroy organic contaminants in the environment. Award: $90,000 for two years.
