Instant health results and reusable energy

Abstract:
Paul Bohn and his fellow researchers are looking ahead to the day when the workings of an entire clinical laboratory will fit inside a device the size of a house key.

Bohn and a team of about 22 researchers at the University of Notre Dame are seeking to develop tiny micro-sensing devices capable of helping with personalized health care and environmental monitoring.

"It may seem amazing, but it's not such an unrealistic goal," said Bohn, a professor of chemical and biomolecular engineering. Researchers around the world are working on "lab-on-a-chip" concepts.
