Denver area solar-film developers move forward with partnerships

Abstract:
Colorado's three thin-film solar cell companies makers of the next generation of solar panels are all getting closer to moving into the market, company executives say.

"Our factory is operating 24-7 now and we should reach our target production of 65 megawatts by the end of the year," said Mark Chen, marketing director at Longmont-based Abound Solar Inc.

PrimeStar Solar Inc., an Arvada-based start-up acquired by General Electric Corp., aims to start commercial production in early 2011, said chief executive Jeff Wyatt.

Ascent Solar Inc. is installing and testing its production equipment at its Thornton plant, said Brian Blackman, a company spokesman.
