80 NGOs demand pre-market approval for nanomaterials

Abstract:
The EU and USA should each adapt existing legislation so that it requires pre-market safety assessments and approval for the use of nanomaterials in consumer products, consumer organisations have declared. The goal is one of nine included in a resolution adopted by the Trans Atlantic Consumer Dialogue - a forum of 80 EU and US consumer organisations - at its annual meeting earlier this week in Brussels.
