Abstract:
Russian corporation of nanotechnologies signed agreements on cooperation with the leading Russian scientific institutions: Russian Academy of Science (RAS) and Moscow State University (MSU). The documents were signed by RUSNANO Director General Anatoly Chubais, president of the Russian Academy of science Yuri Osipov and MSU rector Viktor Sadovnichiy.

Under the terms of agreement, Russian Academy of Science will assist RUSNANO in defining the key directions for development of the nanoindustry by using the methodology of scientific and technical forecast (foresight) in various hi-tech industries. To enable this, the exchange of scientific and technical information, creation and unification of information databases on scientific and technical developments and innovative projects in the field of nanotechnologies, nanomaterials and nanosystems, are conceived.

The sides will cooperate on the selection and realization of projects aimed at commercialization of nanotechnologies, nanomaterials and nanosystems, on providing the conditions for development of competitive scientific and technical schools in Russia. To achieve these goals, RUSNANO and RAS will be jointly training professionals for nanoindustry and attracting young specialists, post-graduate students and post-doctoral researchers to the field of nanotechnologies.

RUSNANO and MSU will cooperate on the development of innovative infrastructure for nanoindustry, preparation and realization of the innovative nanotechnological projects in its early stages; on the implementation of educational projects on retraining and advanced training of professionals for nanoindustry. RUSNANO will use the expert potential of MSU's scientists for project expertise and will lure the university laboratories to the RUSNANO's certification center activity.

The sides have agreed on creation of the Innovation Center for Nanotechnologies, which will serve as a base for development and pilot production. This will allow to breach the existing gap between the results of research and their practical implementation. The Center will function as an infrastructure base for realization of RUSNANO and MSU nanotechnological projects.

About Russian Corporation of Nanotechnologies
The Russian Corporation of Nanotechnologies (RUSNANO) was founded under Federal Law No.139-FZ dated July 19, 2007 for «implementation of the government policy in the sphere of nanotechnologies, innovation infrastructure development in the sphere of nanotechnologies, implementation of projects on creating perspective nanotechnologies and nanoindustry». The Corporation resolves this objective acting as a co-investor in nanotechnological projects with a significant economic or social impact. The Corporation’s financial involvement at early stages of projects reduces risks of its partners – private investors. The Corporation participates in establishment of the nanotechnological infrastructure, such as centers for collective use, business-incubators and early-stage investment funds. RUSNANO chooses the first-priority directions in investment based on long-term development forecasts (foresights) developed by the leading Russian and world experts. In 2007 the Government of the Russian Federation allocated 130 billion rubles for the Corporation’s activity. The management bodies are the Supervisory Council, Board of Directors and Director General. RUSNANO Director General is Anatoly Chubais.

The Russian Academy of Science (RAS) was established by the Senate decree issued by the order of emperor Peter I in January 28 (February 8) 1724. It was recreated by the decree of the President of Russian Federation in November 21 1991 as the supreme scientific institution in Russia. RAS is an autonomous non-commercial organization with the status of a state institution. Russian Academy of Science acts according to the laws of Russian Federation and its own code. RAS is the successor of the Soviet Academy of Science on the territory of Russian Federation. The main goals of Russian Academy of Science are organizing and carrying out the fundamental research aimed at obtaining the new knowledge about the laws of Nature, society and humankind, promoting the technological, economic, social and spiritual development of Russia. The President of RAS – Yury Sergeevich Osipov.

Moscow State University was founded in 1755. The Creation of University became possible due to the activity of the outstanding researcher, the first Russian academician Mikhail Lomonosov. MSU is the largest classic university in the Russian Federation, being a very valuable piece of cultural heritage of Russian people. The University educates students majoring in 27 fields with 57 different specializations, post-doctoral students with 168 scientific specializations that span practically the whole range of modern university education. MSU is a leading research center of the country possessing the largest scientific schools. A number of Nobel prize winners, Lenin and USSR and Russian State prize awardees worked and are still working in MSU.
