Abstract:
Nanoco showcased its quantum dot technology to an audience of British and German representatives from industry and academia at the Nanotechnology Knowledge Transfer Network event held in Berlin on 10 March 2008. Delegates attended from fields such as automotive, photovoltaic, electronics & chemistry.

Quantum Dot Mission to Germany

Manchester, UK | Posted on April 8th, 2008

Nanoco joined a UK delegation including Nanotechnology KTN and Materials KTN.
Michael Edelman, CEO of Nanoco Technologies gave a talk focusing on applications, ěNanoco is working in some very exciting areas with quantum dots.î He commented, ěIt was a good opportunity to present our quantum dot technology to some of Germanyís leading companies.î

The event was hosted by her Majestyís Ambassador, Sir Michael Arthur at the British Embassy in Berlin. Companies in attendance included Bosch, Q-Cells, and Bayer all there to hear about the exciting advances of quantum dot technology in application areas like electroluminescent displays, solid state lighting and CIGS thin-film solar cells.

About Nanoco Technologies Ltd
Nanoco is a nano-material science company that holds patents related to industrial-scale production of Quantum Dots. Quantum Dots are Fluorescent semi-conducting nanocrystals that can be used in a range of applications from biological imaging to next generation solar cells and displays. The University of Manchester spinout was founded in 2001 and works in partnership with technology driven corporations to bring quantum dot based applications to the market around the world.

About Nanotechnology KTN (www.nanotechnologyktn.com)
The Nanotechnology KTN was established in April 2007 as the continuation of a government initiative supporting the growth of micro and nanotechnologies in the UK. The Nanotechnology KTN facilitates the transfer of knowledge and experience between industry and research, offering companies dealing in small-scale technology access to information on new processes, patents and funding as well as keeping up-to-date with industry regulation. The four broad areas that the KTN focuses on are:

- Promoting and facilitating knowledge exchange
- Supporting the growth of UK capabilities
- Raising awareness of Nanotechnology
- Providing thought leadership and input to UK policy and strategy
