Capitol pays homage to nano researcher

Abstract:
University of Missouri scientist Kattesh Katti was honored with the Outstanding Missourian award yesterday by the Missouri General Assembly for research in treating cancer.

Katti discovered how to create gold nanoparticles using gold salts, soybeans and water. The research focuses on using radioactive forms of nanoparticles to kill cancerous cells. Nanoparticles are 1,000 times smaller than the width of a human hair.
