Abstract:
A device that combines magnetic nanoparticles with an extremely sensitive magnetic microscope could make early detection of breast cancer more cost effective and easier to administer.
The device was developed by a team from University College London (UCL), who plan to use the magnetic nanoparticles and the magnetometer called the "HistoMag" to detect cancerous cells in breast tissue samples.
