Opting for semester system

Abstract:
The Kurukshetra University (KU) that started with the lone department of Sanskrit way back in 1956 has already become a multi-faculty university. Its new vice-chancellor RP Bajpai, who took over on February 1, 2008, stresses that his "first priority would be to introduce a credit-based, semester system on the IIT pattern from the next academic session in KU". Bajpai set up a nanotechnology laboratory at the Central Scientific Instuments Organisation in Chandigarh during his stint as its director.
