India may set up polysilicon complex
Abstract:
Chidambaram said a "proper group" is needed to take the project forward, and expected stakeholders (people who want to use the facility and contribute to it) getting involved in this. "Bharat Electronics Limited may be the leader in this".
He also said significant headway has been made by a group of professors in Indian Institute of Technology-Bombay and Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, under a Rs 100 crore nanoelectronics initiative promoted by the Department of Information Technology.
He said while the focus was more on materials at IISc Bangalore, it was on devices at IIT Bombay.
