BioSante Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (AMEX:BPA) today announced that the company has been added to the Russell Microcap Index.
Stephen M. Simes, president and CEO of BioSante commented, "We are extremely pleased to be considered for inclusion within the Russell Microcap™ Index." Simes also added, "This listing is aligned with our goal of increasing the visibility of BioSante to maximize stockholder value."
The Russell Microcap Index offers investors access to the microcap segment of the U.S. equity market. It makes up less than 3% of the U.S. equity market and is represented by the smallest 1,000 securities in the small-cap Russell 2000® Index plus the next 1,000 securities. Russell Microcap Index is constructed to provide a comprehensive and unbiased barometer for the microcap segment trading on national exchanges, while excluding lesser-regulated OTC bulletin board securities and pink-sheet stocks due to their failure to meet national exchange listing requirements. The Russell Microcap Index is completely reconstituted annually to ensure larger stocks do not distort performance and characteristics of the true microcap opportunity set.
Russell Investment Group aims to improve financial security for people by providing strategic advice, world-class implementation, state-of-the-art performance benchmarks and a range of institutional-quality investment products. With more than $200 billion in assets under management, Russell serves individual, institutional and advisor clients in more than 40 countries.
