Wayne State University plans a groundbreaking ceremony Wednesday for a $27.3 million engineering research and development center.
The 83,000 square-foot, three-story structure is going up next to the main College of Engineering building at Wayne State's Detroit campus. The facility will be home to research in areas including alternative energy and nanotechnology.
